You will usually need building regulations approval if you are altering an existing building, or putting up a new building, or building a house extension.

If it’s unknown how long the project will last for, day rates may be agreed so that it works out cheaper for the client.

This depends on what your project is and where you live. We can give you guidance on this once we’ve viewed the proposed work.

Nik manages all projects.

After a contract is drawn up and signed, 10% is required to book your start date. Payments are required on a weekly or fortnightly basis. 

This depends on your project. Progress is normally slower when clients are still living in the home. We understand that you may not be able to sort alternative accommodation and so we will make sure your home is protected and covered along the way, cleaning as we go. If you have children, we advise you to make sure they have at least one safe room to play in. You’ll need much patience but when all is finished, you’ll appreciate the project more seeing it done stage by stage.

We hired Nik in April 2022 for our first major project which included: - Knocking down a wall and chimney to create an open plan living room/kitchen - Repositioning our boiler, water, and waste - Repositioning existing and installing new electrical points to suit our new kitchen design - Replastering the area ready for our new kitchen Nik was great at keeping us informed of what needed to happen and how he was going to do it. This was invaluable to us as this was our first project and we needed that level of reassurance. He even pushed us to challenge our structural engineer on some of the designs based on his experience, this resulted in a better result for us both aesthetically and financially. We encountered a few problems (nothing to do with Nik but the age and condition of our property) and Nik was always there to reassure us of our options and tried to work within our budgetary constraints. Nik’s workers were always polite and ensured that the site was always left clean at the end of the day. They started early and even worked weekends and bank holidays to ensure the project was finished on time which was much appreciated given the deadlines we had on other deliveries and work. We are very pleased with the result and finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Nik again and recommend his services.
